Today was all about the chips. I managed to modify three schematics, preparing them for IC layout, and then started and completed one of those chips. Granted, the task was sort of easy, but still, I was able to do a chip in a day, which made me feel pretty good. It verified correctly the first time as well – a rarity. This little test chip is ready to go! If it works, it will become a very important product for us.
Unfortunately, I also spent three hours of my day this morning attempting to simulate one of those three schematics, only to discover that I lack a single part that will make the simulation work. How frustrating! Now I have to find design help to get this thing working and all the designers I know are on vacation.
In the evening, we watched several movies. It’s sort of something we do every Christmas break.
