Travel Day

Today was a travel day.  My family got up nice and early (4:30AM) to catch a plane from San Jose to Phoenix, and then from Phoenix to Buffalo.

Sort of a funny story (?), but I went to print out my tickets 24 hours before the flight, so I could get some good seats, and after three phone calls, it turns out that my credit card company reserved the flight back in April, but failed to pay for it.  I mean, how hard is that?  Two tickets were paid with air miles, but the other two were paid by me.  You would think at least two tickets were paid for.  Well, unfortunately, it took me half a day to correct this problem.  We had OK seats today, but they weren’t as good as they could have been.

On the second leg of our flight, we rode with a Chinese tour group.  They were all Jr. High or High School kids from central China.  The one who sat next to us was shy and didn’t really want to speak with us.  I think I spoke as much Mandarin to her as she spoke English to me.

When we got off the plane, we headed right towards, Cracker Barrel, a favorite East Coast destination.  Man, the food here is cheap and plentiful!  We left stuffed, and listened to Prairie Home Companion comedy CDs the entire two hour drive to my parent’s house.
